Why Sizing Is Vital for Saving Money with Your Heat Pump

The idea that “bigger is always better” is a misconception that often leads to large wastes of money. This is especially true when it comes to a home comfort system. For example, why would you spend the money to install a 5 ton heat pump unit (tons referring to its heating/cooling power, not the actual weight of the system) if you knew you could receive the same performance from a 2 ton heat pump? The answer is obvious: you wouldn’t install the 5 ton unit.
